The Strassburg Sock - Ultimate treatment for Plantar Fasciitis
The Study:
An independent research study using the Strassburg SockTM as the exclusive night splint was published in the July/August 2002 issue of the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. The hypothesis of the study was this. When other injuries occur, standard...

Blisters - Ironman
Pain and Ironman performance is inversely proportional exponential relationship (pardon the big words). Put simply, as pain increases Ironman performance decreases proportionately to a point where something has to give. It is accepted and expected that Ironman does hurt. However on the perfect day the only pain we should feel is that which we cannot control, such as muscle soreness. Any other aches and pain we feel that can be avoided is...

Burning rubber
Whilst helping Nike out with the “You’re the run that I want” Training Sessions I came across some good and bad examples of women’s running shoes. I have noticed women seem far more open to, and willing to adhere to professional advice on footwear and biomechanics than men. Don’t get fooled into buying a pair of shoes just because your...

Last minute prep
We have all seen it whilst racing and chances are it has happened to us all at least once – Poor performances as a result of avoidable situations. I’m not talking about nutritional or mechanical issues here, I mean grotty things like blisters, ingrown or stripped nails and skin reactions or abrasions. These are the sorts of things that can force people to pull out of races, it would be a shame to have this happen during a key...

Nike Free
We all remember running barefoot around the cross country course, the school field or the football pitch when we were young. We were fast, nimble, agile and we could always run faster than our parents. That was because the action of running unshod throughout our early days enabled our feet to develop an impressive intrinsic strength, which also meant we very rarely got injured (apart from a few stubbed toes, and glass cuts) until we were told...
